A few weeks ago I shared my plans for the kitchen makeover (check it out here) and after an Easter painting fiesta and getting all the accessories and styling together, I'm finally ready to reveal the new fresh kitchen, just in time for brighter and longer days!
The unmissable thing that hit you in the face every time you walked into the old kitchen: the green walls. I love a bit of green but only in the right places!
Plants, that would be my kind of green! I made sure that I had a good amount of faux greens in this room when finished. The lovely team from Wayfair got in touch recently and asked me to join their #BringTheOutdoorsIn campaign, and it couldn't have been at a better time as I was just about to add the final touches to my kitchen project!
The green walls we inherited made the room look darker and smaller, and we are very pleased with the off-white, grey and brass freshness we achieved without spending the earth.

We chose a new colour scheme and created a feature wall which is now a focal point that brings everything together! I chose pale grey and off-white for the walls and this scheme will allow me to style the kitchen through the seasons. I can bring pops of colour in the spring, and put together a great metallic scheme over the winter if I wish to.
We still want to modernise the room as a whole by having the units painted, however the changes we have done so far already make such a difference in making it a happy, calm and modern room which we love spending time in!
My favourite elements of this project were my brass hanging rack with the hanging planters , the brass shelf brackets and the painted radiator! I love how the radiator blends in with the wall, it doesn't stick out or distract you from looking at the cool features on this wall.

Giving us a total of just under £349 from which the blinds took the biggest chunk! After all the painting (thank you Mr Roomalive!) and shopping (always fun!) I have customised some of the accessories to match my scheme:
The shelves half-way through their makeover
1- Painting the Shelves and the hanging planter from Tiger in Graphite Rust-Oleum furniture paint. I used 2 coats on the shelves and I love the chalky finish!

I have also used a lot of items and accessories we already owned, such as the curtains, the poster frame which was a DIY project a few months back, the books, faux plants, and the other décor accessories.
Brass brackets with graphite painted shelves are a great place to display some cook books. I love the effect created by the radiator matching the wall colour.
The combination of fresh colours with the greean from the plants, and the pop of colour from the tulips and accessories make this room feel so inviting! That's how I #BringTheOutdoorsIn in my kitchen, which now goes really well with the garden!
A touch of spring with fresh flowers and faux plants brings the outdoors in.
