Comfort or Looks? Plus an offer you shouldn't miss!

If you're anything like the rest of the UK families, you're already making Christmas plans (that's if you didn't start back in September - why wait until after Halloween anyway?). And if you will be hosting the party this year, you're thinking you need to get your home ready for the festive season!

For a lot of people that includes finally getting that kick up the bottom to get a new sofa. We know a new sofa is a big purchase and one that will stay with you for years to come, but just think of the end result and get shopping!

Recently we got a new sofa for the play room and it was a totally spontaneous purchase. We saw it, liked it, tried it, measured it, and since it was a bargain not to be missed we got it! A day later it was sitting pretty in the play room. (Now I have to finish decorating that room, but that's for another blog post.)

Back to sofa shopping, once you have decided on the style, colour and size you want, the most important consideration is whether you will favour looks or comfort!

I have previously gone for comfort over looks, and a few months later the sofa looked like a big bed sitting in the middle of my living room and I won't deny, it would just hug you into a cosy sleep but didn't look that great in pictures (or in person!) And I've also gone for looks over comfort where you have an Instagram-worthy sofa that looks stunning but after an hour sitting on it you can't help but keep moving to find a comfortable position or end up getting a pile of cushions to make it more user-friendly.

For our most recent addition, we did not want to compromise. A comfy sofa that looked good - that's not too much to ask for these days with so many options out there. The Mr was there to make sure whatever I liked passed the comfort test.

If you haven't yet heard of Sofas & Stuff, I am about to show you my favourite sofas from their extensive collection. They have a huge range available in stock for a quick delivery, with tons of fabric, colour and size choices and some stunning designs - and there's a great offer for you as well, keep reading :)

They are a family run company offering beautiful handmade sofas and more, lifetime guarantee on their products, and you can pretty much use any fabric of your choice to customise your sofa if you prefer to.

Meet Bermondsey, one of their Best-sellers:

Not much to compromise here, I love the style and the supportive cushions. Once at home, I'd add a comfy large patterned cushion by each side and a throw for those lazy afternoons.

Next, meet Peckham Rye...

pecham rye sofas & stuff

This one wins on looks for me! Great design, looks super inviting, amazing choices of fabric available and also ready for fast delivery. Comfort-wise, I would just think about who will be using it, if you are on the taller side you may prefer a sofa with a bigger backrest.

Now meet Mansion House...

mansion house sofas & stuff

The Mansion House gets top marks for comfort and looks! The shape, the size, supportive cushions, high backrest and lower arms, it's the perfect family sofa for those movie nights and lazy winter days!

Now that I've shared my top three, have a look for yourself on some more styles they offer:
