Last week Dulux has revealed the colour of the year for 2016. And Cherished Gold it is! Last year's was copper blush, so it stays firmly within the trend of warm metallic colours.
It is great to see gold and tones of gold being used more often, I am really drawn to gold accessories (as you can see here!) and it adds a certain sophistication to a room. It is still flexible though, combine it with dark colours (thought of navy? emerald green?) and it's pure glam, pair it with light colours and it's more casual. How about grey, blacks & whites? You get an edgy trendy room décor!
Having seen it pop up as the colour of 2016, just reminded me of all my recent gold crushes from accessories to kitchen units, have a look below at some of them!
A classic item made modern and cool, it's this brass candle centrepiece! It is by Luke Arthur Wells Homewares - a must have!
You may have seen this kitchen before in one of my posts or my instagram feed. And if you did, you know I just love it! If you haven't seen it before, it is worth seeing it, I love love love it, the amazing use of the gold tone on these kitchen units make them very unique.
A Gold cage lamp, this one I found on Ebay! The right mix of industrial chic sophistication! They can be used as a table lamp or ceiling pendant too, or imagine a cluster of them hanging together?
I found these tables during my visit to Decorex recently (a great visit by the way :) I'll share more about it very soon in another post!). These are from Robert Langford, part of the 'In Stock' collection. The variety is great however the hexagonal one made me look twice!
This wallpaper is another one I saw at Decorex, and I am so glad I got to know about Juliet Travers, she designs wallpapers and fabrics and they are amazing, also bringing a fun element with them. Definitely a talking point in any room they'll be used. This one is the nutcracker.
In one of my recent visits to Anthropologie I have come across a LOT of gold and gold tones in their accessories! This is an example, a table full of Moroccan lanterns in an antique gold finish, there's one to suit every taste!
What's your favourite gold accessory?
