The easiest & coolest way to update your kitchen

My kitchen makeover is well under way and it'll be ready for the reveal soon!

In the meantime, there is a very cool feature in my new kitchen that was super easy and affordable to do and keeps getting us compliments by anyone that sees it.

I've had a crush on hanging planters for a little while and I needed them to be a feature in my kitchen. I didn't just want to hang them off individual hooks though.

I decided to create a brass rack with S shaped hooks for my hanging planters and utensils to create the effect I was looking for.

I'm very pleased with the result, if you follow me on Instagram you'll have already seen a sneak peek! Here it is... keep reading to see how easy it was to get it done!

Here's what you'll need to get your own brass kitchen rack... And the best part, the finished rack only cost £15.25! Add whichever utensils and accessories you want, it certainly ticks the affordable box.

1- Utensil Rack from Ikea  £3.50

2- S Hooks from Ikea  £3

3- Rust-Oleum Gold Spray Paint £8.75 on Amazon

The accessories I used:

1- Hanging Planters by Mia Fleur x 2 £14.95 each

2- Artificial Plants by Ikea x 2 £3 each

3- Any other utensils or decorative objects you want to hang from it. Here I am using a Jamie Oliver cutting board I already had, but the options are endless.

How I did it:

After getting all I needed together, I spray-painted the utensil rack and the hooks. I gave it 2 coats on each side.

Once they were all dry and ready, I just needed Mr. Roomalive to put the rack up on the wall and then it was ready to be styled with the planters and everything else.

I told you it was easy! And super affordable too!
