Part 1 of 2: High-End, Luxury and Green!

During my last trip to Sao Paulo I visited one of Florense's showrooms and I was impressed not only at the quality and finish but also at the fantastic design options they have to offer! Be warned, this is the first one of two picture heavy posts as I walk you through my visit and tempt you with their original designs! Florense is one of the main names in high-end furniture across 72 cities around the world, 60 of those showrooms are located in Brazil, and you can see the other locations in the map pictured. It offers high design and luxury for projects of any size and uses ecologically correct manufacturing processes which have earned them an environmental certification recognised...

Want to style your Bookcase? Read my 5 tips to get started!

I have recently re-styled the bookcase in my lounge as the room has been re-decorated, and oh boy, what a difference it makes! Storage units can at times be overlooked and forgotten, however they can make a difference in the overall look of our rooms. There are solutions to hide the clutter away (some of which I share here), instead of using a bookcase as a 'it's-out-of-the-way-on-the-shelf-so-it's-fine' kind of unit. I'd rather think of it as a unit to display your personality and add character to a room! I am sharing my tips here so you can achieve the same results at home. 1- Chose items that mean something to you, some items that will bring good memories and things that you have collected over...

10 Most Recent Additions to our Home!

We are talking about home decor here... Last month I was really inspired to accessorise some of our rooms and I got a few new items for our home, some for pure décor purposes, some with practical uses, and some just because they looked cool. Why not? And ok, the amount of emails I got to browse the sale offers in July along with new collections was unbelievable... and tempting. So here we go, my 10 most recent additions: The tea light holders below are a H&M find and the colours go so well in our guest bedroom (which is an ongoing project at the moment!). I've added battery operated faux candles, as they are safer around babies (still not quite baby-friendly though) I...

Go Big or Go Budget: White Chandelier

I recently shared my chandelier crushes (here), and in my search for my favourite chandeliers I found a #gobigorgobudget option that you cannot miss if you liked the white beaded chandelier. Let's #gobig first. One of my top crushes was a white beaded chandelier that has the right mix of classic and modern, just the style I like. I have come across a variety of this beautiful pendant, and have found the one pictured below sold by Out There Interiors (which have some amazing furniture and accessories by the way, check them out!) for £745. #droolingoverit Amazing? YES! Pricey? Yes! So if your wallet is turning its back to that one, there's always the #gobudget option. This is the one pictured in my chandelier crush...

Wallpaper is not just for walls: a wardrobe project!

This time last year I had the most exciting project to date ahead of me. I was expecting our first baby, a little girl, and a total life change was ahead of us! So this project was also a very personal one: to design and set up her nursery! My home office was about to become her safe haven, so I had to start making some decisions! The first one being that I did not like the shop bought baby furniture you find in most baby & child stores around. It was something about either the curved childish shapes or the boxy square standard set of units that didn't do it for me. So with the exception of her cot, I started adapting......
