#Shelfie #bringyourroomtolife #pictureshelfinspiration Me and Baby L are currently on holidays in Brazil for some family time, and hubby has been keeping busy back in the UK decorating the lounge! (read about it here) He is doing an amazing job and I can't wait to see it and to get styling it! Sneak peak... The wall-to-wall floating shelf is up! I have wanted it since we moved in, there is something so cool about placing pictures on a shelf and leaning them against the wall instead of hanging them. I have an idea in my mind of what I want to do but I've been seeking some inspiration as well, here's what I love about the ones below... I love how casual and...
As the seasons change and the warmer weather approaches, I was just thinking how nice it will be to have some garden meals again. So I was thinking of the best ever garden kitchen I've eaten in with the best ever views. Nothing less than an extraordinary view of aromatic and scenic gardens in Provence surrounded by Olive trees... Just over 2 years ago I was so lucky to be taken on a trip to Provence where I could enjoy the delicious views, aromas and of course the food! One of the places I visited was Oraison near Manosque, and little did I know the wonders that awaited me. Let's go straight into the view... Breath-taking, right? After being faced with the most amazing view, I was taken...
We've all been there... Between being parents and working, socialising and looking after the dogs and finding enough time to rest, clutter appears. And it won't go away until we do something about it! That pile of letters and leaflets on the counter. Phone and Ipad chargers we keep to hand. The jackets and layers of clothing we've just taken off because it's 15 degrees warmer inside than it is out. Keys hanging out on the table. And if you have a small space that's even worse. Well... There are ways around it, all it needs is a little dedication to get appropriate storage and voila... Clutter disappears! My top 5 ways to get rid of it in style: 1....
My latest object of desire (or feature of desire I should say)... Customised stair risers are a very unexpected way to decorate a home. And a great conversation starter for that, wait until you open the doors to your guests and they see the beautiful pattern on your steps. I am definitely getting this done in our next house (or if we remove the carpet in this one). There are so many options available to decorate the stairs: you can tile it, wallpaper it, paint it, fabric it! I have also seen these super easy to apply decals that are made to size. Simple and striking, hey? And if they are not self-adhesive you can apply them with wallpaper paste or...
We got busy here over Easter. I put the plans for the lounge together! Mood board done, paint & primer bought, wall measured, picture ledge on order! I can't wait to see it come to life. The plan is that while me and Baby L visit my family, hubby will keep busy and tackle the painting and install my long desired picture ledge/shelf. And I will do the styling when we return. Something great to look forward to! The major changes are in the walls and accessories. Our lounge is currently nice. New and nice. But I'm really looking for cosy stylish grey walls with a wall-to-wall picture ledge that will tell a story and complement the contemporary white furniture and big inviting comfy...
