Last week was the Amara Interior Awards ceremony, while I wasn't there I was closely following all the social media updates, and I'd just like to send a big congratulations to the Winners! Thank you everyone who supported me by voting, and there is always next year to try again... :) #nevergiveup Let's talk mirrors now! I've added a few mirrors to my wish list recently (yes, I do keep wish lists of home décor!) and I have been finding quite a few must-have mirrors for prices that won't break the bank! From embellishing your living room walls, to sitting pretty on shelves, you can add so much interest to a room with the right mirror! I still remember the episode...
I have confessed a few weeks ago that I am loving DIY Posters! I have been compiling ideas for more & more posters that I'd love to put up on my walls, bookcases, desks, everywhere. You really can decorate anything with great typography and a cute message, combine it with your colour scheme and voila... it's all you needed to complete your room decor! Put it in a picture frame for your desk, print it big and wall mount it for a statement, block print it to finish up your bookcase, bed side table, window ledges. Really, anywhere! It only gets better though as it doesn't cost the earth, so you can change it with every season, or every trend (if you like...
Having just come back from a week in sunny Spain, I am missing the bright coloured tiles and warm colours everywhere! There is something special about colourful patterned tiles that is so Mediterranean, so warming, and so uplifting. And how I wish we could see more of it here in the UK, am I the only one!? Coming back from 30 degrees plus, to a grey 10 degrees London brought that out in me and perhaps seeing more happy patterns around us would help (bring the memory of the sun and warmth if nothing else!) I have picked my favourite tiles and patterns that would help bring spanish vibes into our homes... What a great way to add colour...
Decorex had so many talented designers and great products that I just have to share my final two picks from this year's show! This is going waaaay beyond high street shopping and looking at real statement features. I can't wait to show you! Juliet Travers stood out for me with such an interesting range of fabrics and wallpapers. All the designs are hand drawn by Juliet, and having launched their first collection at Decorex 2013, they have been on the road to success already selling in many countries. How could they not though, with such exceptionally fun and intriguing designs! One of my favourites is the Nakuru from the Safari Collection, a beautiful interpretation of the Flamingos from Lake Nakuru...
I have already mentioned in my previous post how Decorex 2015 presented endless options for wallcoverings. Yet, there are some that really stood out, and definitely did not disappoint! Sian Zeng was one of them! What an amazing eye-catching collection with a great differential. We have probably all heard of magnetic paint before, and how it is very popular amongst kids bedrooms or play rooms, offices, even kitchens. This was the first time I saw magnetic wallpaper though. And I loved it! #musthaveit In their own words: "Sian Zeng’s magnetic woodlands wallpaper is a wonderfully whimsical adventure into an enchanted forest of surreal and extraordinary fairy tale creatures. Experience the joy of bringing narrative and fantasy to life in...
